CALL for ENTRIES: Bemis AiR

Learn more from Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts!OLIVES & more

I tend not to buy in bulk, despite the benefits, because I live in a very small apartment.  But, I am guilty of buy multiples.  There are too many varieties of olives, specifically, for me to resist.  I’ve gotten so carried away that part of my decision of what to buy is based on whether the jar is tall & skinny or short & fat.  Ridiculous.  The sponsors of this Call love artists so much, they invite them 10 at a time.  You could be one of the ten…

Check out this Call for Entries from Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts (Omaha, NE) for 2019 Artist Residencies.  Each session hosts 10 artists for a total of 30 opportunities WITH a monthly stipend. Consider this opportunity…

winter SEEDS

When I can find decent greens, salads are winter food in my house.  The secret? Toasted walnuts.  This glorious fruit & seed in one shell produces this beautiful aroma when toasted that adds a nutty warmth to the crunchiest of greens.  This next Call is offering seeds of its very own to add a little warmth to your art production.  There are definitely worse ways to spend seven dollars.  Give it a try.

Check out this Call for Entries from Integrity Arts & Culture Association (Rock Island, IL) for a $250 Mini-Grant.  The application is simple & only costs $7.  Take a look…

HAD A COW

Have you heard about the cannulated cows?  Wow.  Who knew there were cows with port holes?  I was watching the Wisconsin edition of Weird Foods America.  And a professor at UW-Madison Department of Dairy Science was explaining how they put port holes in the side of cows to study the “ruminant’s digestive process” or the chewing of the cud aka “ruminating.”  Into my miscellaneous food trivia file THAT tidbit went; THEN, I received this Call from Ruminate Magazine.  Funny how things work out…

Check out this Call for Entries from Ruminate Magazine for the Kalos Visual Art Prize.  This is a well-documented juror and could be the very art publication opportunity for which many of you are seeking.  Take a look…

Communal cooking requires wine consumption.  Well, it does for ME.  It isn’t that I don’t trust other people to do things “right” in the kitchen; afterall, my husband cooks dinner for our family almost every night.  No, it is really about being IN the kitchen with multiple people, all doing things differently.  I can adapt, it just requires a little wine in the beginning, ha.  This next Call could require some communal cooking.  Look out…
