CALL for ENTRIES:
Surrealist Manifesto
 from Ciao Gallery

Ciao Gallery in association with Graffenburg Gallery will be hosting “Surrealist Manifesto” which will showcase works created by Surrealist artist Michele E. Walters.

Walters works inspiration is drawn from the original Surrealist Manifesto and has received a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council to create her next series which she will feature alongside other preselected Surrealist artists.

Learn more about the Surrealist Manifesto from the Ciao Gallery!This exhibition seeks other surrealist inspired works or any other unique interpretation of the meaning.

ELIGIBILITY: The project encourages anyone from anywhere who want to be a part of it, to participate. Anyone meaning, anyone: kids, parents, students, seniors, writers, artists, dreamers, wanders, the guy next door, the crazy cat lady, the ski bum, the couch surfer, anyone.

MEDIA: All media welcome

DEADLINE: December 7, 2012

NOTIFICATION: December 10, 2012

ENTRY FEE: $25 for up to 5, $5 ea. add’l

JUROR:  Paige Murray, Curator, Ciao Gallery, and Michele Walters, Director, Ciao Gallery,  and a Guest Juror 

AWARDS:  1st Place- 3 month representation in Graffenberg Gallery space;  2nd Place- 1 month representation in Graffenberg Gallery space; and 3rd Place- 3 month representation in Virtual Gallery space.

CALL for ENTRIES: Rocky Mountain Art Books

DAYDREAMING

I have been working on a menu for months now.  I have virtually no free time.  Amongst the art show, music gigs, cooking, cleaning, blogging and family time, there is precious little time for day dreaming.  Nonetheless, the soup is always simmering in my mind.  I have been working on a menu for a bistro for months in my head.  I’m narrowing down the theme and am going to start working on food cost projections soon.  Where is the bistro?  In my head.  Here a chance to spend time putting your daydreams down on paper.  This is a great winter project…

Learn more about the Rocky Mountain Art Book Project!The Rocky Mountain Art Book Collection, is an exhibition project (with suggested themes) where the participants will receive a blank sketch pad to do whatever they please artistically over the course of four months. This project will be localized to communities throughout the Rocky Mountain region but also encouraging those across the country or the world to participate. After completed, participants will then submit their art books to be on display in an exhibition that will take place the third week in December of 2011.

ELIGIBILITY:  The project encourages anyone from anywhere who want to be a part of it, to participate.  Anyone meaning, anyone: kids, parents, students, seniors, writers, artists, dreamers, wanders, the guy next door, the crazy cat lady, the ski bum, the couch surfer, anyone.

MEDIA:  All forms of mediums are welcome.

DEADLINE:  The distribution of the sketch pads began mid-September and are ongoing.  Sketch pads are due to be returned Janaury 9, 2012.

ENTRY FEE: The participation fee is $25.
