Back in March, I published a Call for Submissions for the 6x6x2010 Show in New York, and thanks in part to your entries, the Rochester Contemporary Art Center received 5000 entries and has sent us an update:

6x6x2010: You Asked For It – 5000 artworks from 22 countries and 43 states were entered in this huge exhibition of small art!

6x6x2010 is the third exhibition of thousands of original artworks, made and donated by celebrities, international and local artists, designers, college students, youths and YOU.

Notable contributors include Turner Prize nominee Dexter Dalwood, Carl Chiarenza, Nathan Lyons, Sydney Licht and many more. Each artwork is 6×6 inches square and signed only on the back, to be exhibited anonymously.

All artworks are for sale to the public for $20 each, to benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center.

In the meantime, I received this call today and thought it was a perfect opportunity for those of you ust starting to build a resume–The 3rd Annual 6x6x2010 is a brilliant fundraiser in benefit of the Rochester Contemporary Art Center.

The rules are pretty simple:

You send up to 10 pieces of work sized 6″ x 6″ x no more than 1/4″ deep signed only on the back, and they will be exhibited at the Rochester Contemporary Art Center and sold at $20 each. 

No hanging hardware necessary–they use push pins.

1. It is an “all hung” show so you won’t receive a rejection letter. 

2. You can add a NY Show to your resume. 

3. You get a chance to support the arts while possibly picking up a collector or two.

All submissions are due by May 2 at 5 pm and should be delivered or mailed directly to Rochester Contemporary Art Center. A full list of artists and an online gallery of all contributed artworks will be made available for viewing and purchasing online.
