Have I mentioned my new obsession with dried fruit enough yet? Well, I just found another reason to love it–approximately twice the fiber.  Yep.  Fiber is important for all those reason you don’t want to talk about when you’re discussing yummy food, but it is also a key factor in management of weight and cholesterol management.  Dry your fruit at home, and then you get to control the additives and chemicals.  Allergic to sulfites?  Use pineapple juice instead.  Yum.  This next call is all about the fiber.  Investigate…

ELIGIBILITY:  All US resident artists

MEDIA:  “Crossroads” celebrates the diversity within the contemporary Fiber Arts movement.

DEADLINE:  June 1, 2012

NOTIFICATION:  June 29, 2012

ENTRY FEE:  Non-SCAL members is $40 for up to 3 entries; SCAL members $30 for up to 3 entries.

JUROR:  Jean Cacicedo (Artist, Teacher and Lecturer)

AWARDS:  The Juror will grant $1,000 in awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.

SALES:  Artists donate 45% of any sale of work to SCAL or 30% of sale if SCAL member.
