I love things in small packages.  For many of my friends it conjures images of little blue boxes from Tiffany’s.  For me, you can just send little blue boxes of Mariebelle chocolates and keep the jewels for yourself.  This next Call may inspire your own small package.

Check out this Call for Entries from Harper College for their 34th Annual National Juried Exhbition of Small Works.  Small is all about perspective, but Harper College see it as no larger than 22″ at its largest dimension.  That sure includes a large amount of artwork, so sieze your opportunity…

CALL for ENTRIES:
34th Annual National Juried Art Exhibition

The College’s annual national juried exhibition highlights work selected from entries by artists from across the country. The show typically features a wide array of media ranging from photography, prints, and painting to metal, clay, glass, and fiber. The Harper College Educational Foundation sponsors this exhibit.

Learn more about Harper College online!ELIGIBILITY:  All artists over 18 living in the USA are eligible.

SIZE & MEDIA: In its largest dimension, individual artwork must be no greater than 22 inches including frame if applicable.  All media excluding
jewelry, film and video/digital video are eligible. 
Weight limitation of 45 pounds. No work that requires special installation or instructions will be accepted.

DEADLINE:  Postmarked by January 24, 2011

ENTRY FEE:  A nonrefundable fee of $25 entitles each artist to submit a maximum of three entries. Make check or money order payable to: Harper College Educational Foundation.

AWARDS:  Accepted work will be considered for purchase for the Harper College Educational Foundation Art Collection. Purchases are made possible by the Harper College Educational Foundation Purchase Award.

JUROR:  Lanny Silverman, Chief Curator of Exhibitions for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, Chicago Cultural Center, will serve as the show juror. He has more than 30 years experience curating and promoting contemporary and avant-garde art forms from American and other cultures. Since 1990, he has curated over 90 exhibitions at the Chicago Cultural Center.
