Learn more about the Valdosta National 2018 from Valdosta State University!

ooo-ey goo-ey CENTER

I was born in Florida & spent my adolescence in north Georgia.  We made an annual trip between the two, and Valdosta, GA was one of our regular stops.  We would stop in the same diner every year, and I would order the same grilled cheese with a pickle on top.  As I ate my sandwich & debated the merits of pickle juice on butter-toasted bread, my dad would ask the same question of our waitress, “tell me ’bout Valdosta.”  I don’t remember our server being the same woman every year, but I do remember hearing the same answer every year, “The man that wrote ‘Jingle Bells’ lived here.” I think of that short interaction every year when I receive this annual Call from Valdosta State. This is a great show, story not withstanding, and you should carefully weigh this opportunity…

Check out this Call for Entries from Valdosta State University (Valdosta, GA) for Valdosta National 2018 at the Dedo Maranville Fine Arts Gallery.  This is another excellent academic show with an esteemed juror.  Take a look…
