I have been having the oddest dreams.  I think it is related to the new version of melatonin supplements I am taking before bed.  As you might know, my dreams are often about food.  The most commonly reoccurring dream involves my being chased by Swiss chard –specifically red shard wearing yellow sneakers.  Yes, I know it is weird.  No, I don’t have an explanation.  This next Call is all about dreams and you don’t have to explain them either.  Interpretation is wide open…

ELIGIBILITY: All artists age 18+ (int’l)

MEDIA:   Open to still media, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital art, printmaking, fiber art, collage, etc.

THEME:  Dreams “Dreams are windows into what might be called a ‘substitute’ reality that we all experience. Reflections upon our dreams can have a fleeting effect or a significance that may haunt us for a lifetime. The visual artist can offer safe refuge to the viewer, a connection to these dreams at our invitation as we appreciate the creative avenues we discover through their art. The artist has this opportunity to present a dream as a hazy filtered reality from representational memories to an explosion of abstract & surrealistic imagery—all of which may be emotionally treasured as his or her own.” –art-competition.net

NOTIFICATION: July 31, 2017

ENTRY FEE: $25 for up to 3, $5 ea. add’l

AWARDS:  20 artists will be selected for an online group exhibit, “Dreams 3” at Gallery25N; the exhibit and artists will be extensively marketed worldwide to over 24,000 people including art buyers, gallery owners, curators, collectors, etc.
