CALL for ENTRIES: 2019 Trestle Residencies

Learn more about Artst Residency at Trestle Gallery!

JELLY much?

Why do we always want what we cannot have?  Deprivation drives some people mad.  I am not being deprived; I’m just stubborn.  It is a control issue.  The food at my residency is phenomenal cuisine offered in a beautiful setting.  I have eaten every manner of velouté, terrine & and savory foam imaginable, but I am currently craving a PB&J and banana pudding, separately of course.  Ridiculous.  This next Call is for a residency that does not provide meals, so you are welcome to eat all the junk food you can stand, ha.  Take a look…

Check out this Call for Entries from The Trestle Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) for Trestle Artist Residency and Visiting Artist Residency.  This is an opportunity to have work space in Brooklyn while developing a relationship with a great non-profit contemporary art space for only a $10 submission fee.  Take a look…

fiesta ANACARDO

I made a little party mix as finger food for my teenager yesterday.  It is his favorite snack, and I’m a sucker for the “please” of it all.  The reviews are in and while I got I got bonus points for substituting cayenne for garlic, apparently not including cashews is unforgivable.  Who knew something so small would make such a difference?  This next Call is counting on all things small.  Investigate for yourself…

choo choo

The sight of a train trestle always conjures my cravings for hot chocolate.  My entire life has been spent in residence within about a half-mile of railroad road tracks.  I loved sitting on my front porch in the Fall with a cup of hot chocolate and listen to the trains pass.  That all ended when I moved to Gatlinburg.  Now my cravings for hot chocolate come about through all the standard means–a chill in the air, holiday decorations, a simple sweet tooth.  But, today I found merely the name of the gallery in this next Call sent me in search of cocoa in my cabinet.  This is a wonderful opportunity, don’t miss it…

My husband and I don’t cook together often.  He doesn’t believe in cleaning while you cook; therefore, a simple bowl of popcorn ends with the kitchen looking like someone washed a pack of dogs in the sink–a disaster area.  I enjoy the collaboration, but the clean up is hell.  This next Call is about a collaboration of a different sort.  Investigate…

Check out this Call for Entries from the Trestle Gallery (Brooklyn, NY) for the Collaborations exhibit.  The entry fee is really low, and it is an unusual opportunity meant just for collaborations.  Take a look…
