Mozzarella-making is at a standstill at my house. Okay, to be truthful, no one has ever mistaken this house for a cheese factory. But lately, we’ve suffered the loss of one digital thermometer after another. They don’t just stop; the temps slowly start veering from accurate. I don’t normally advocate technology-forward kitchen gadgetry, but a digital thermometer results in far fewer failed batches of cheese–when it works. CALL for ENTRIES:
Int’l Digital & Photo
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all artists
MEDIA: Open to all styles of art where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creating the images–including photography.
DEADLINE: February 23, 2015
NOTIFICATION: March 2, 2015
ENTRY FEE: $35 for up to 3, $35 for each add’l 3
CURATORS: Leigh Gleason, Curator of Collections, California Museum of Photography AND Shana Nys Dambrot, Critic, L.A. Weekly, Whitehot Magazine, Huffington Post, Art Ltd.
AWARDS: The selected winner receives 10 prints up to 44″x60″ (approx. $2,500-$3,000 value) to be shown in a solo exhibition–widely promoted and including a reception. 2nd place: Ten 2nd place winners will receive a print up to 24″x36″ ($150-$200 in value) to be included in the winners’ exhibit. Special consideration will be given to all entrants for inclusion in future shows.
