completely CRACKED open

I don’t have an electric can opener.  Any time someone cooks in my kitchen, they are puzzled by my lack of this appliance. (Insert obligatory I-don’t-buy-single-use-gadgets explanation here.)  In my defense, I don’t eat that many foods that come in cans, and a large percentage of the few canned foods I do eat come with pop tops –even my guilty secret canned salmon.  The most commonly “opened” foods in my house are eggs and nuts… and fortune cookies.  This next Call wants to see your wide open work, and the juror is fantastic…

Check out this Call for Entries from BWAC (Brooklyn, NY) for Wide Open 9.  Discounts for early entry, a distinguished juror & cash awards. This is one of my favorite venues & the early bird deadline is just around the corner. Take a look…

How often do you read a recipe and think it sounds delicious only to be disappointed be either the process or the outcome?  How often do you order something that sounds just okay but turns out to be fantastic?  I find the proof is always in the present, in the right now, in the out loud of it all –the pudding, if you will.  This next Call wants to hear what you have to say OUT LOUD.  What do you have to say?

Check out this Call for Entries from the Todd Art Gallery at MTSU (Mufreesboro, TN) for Spoken Word Performance & Video.  There is no entry fee.  Take a look at this opportunity….
