I am particularly anxious for Spring to arrive this year. We’re getting closer to when my yearly batch of fiddleheads arrive from the northeast. I have a friend that sends these asparagus-reminiscent beauties to me once a year. And as much as I love them, my anticipation of Spring is about more this year. The symbolism of future promise and new beginnings will weigh on my palate with every fork of fiddlehead this year. This next Call is also inspired by nature. Investigate this opportunity…

ELIGIBILITY: All artists age 18+
MEDIA: Open to still media, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage, etc.
THEME: Inspired by Nature “All submitted works must reflect or present nature as a source of inspiration, whether it is a simple object of nature or a world vista. The artist’s focus should enhance our appreciation and respect for the environment’s delicate balance, as it protects and ensures the survival of our planet.”
DEADLINE: March 5, 2018
NOTIFICATION: March 16, 2018
ENTRY FEE: $25 for up to 3, $5 ea. add’l
AWARDS: 20 artists will be selected for an online group exhibit, “Inspired by Nature 2018” at Gallery25N; the exhibit and artists will be extensively marketed worldwide to over 26,000 people including art buyers, gallery owners, curators, collectors, etc. One artist will be selected to receive the “Christopher E. Burke Fine Art Grant“ of $500. That artist’s work will become the image of the exhibition and will be used on the invitation, video title screen and on all online marketing.
