CALL for ENTRIES: Black & White

I will put salt & pepper on anything.  Years of deliberate pause has taught me that not all things need salt, but it has been a hard lesson to learn.  I have super-low blood pressure (70 over 40, no really), and my doctor surmises that I just self-medicate with salt.  Who knows?  Changing from the black & white of salt and pepper to the pink of Himalayian salt and red/green of whole peppercorns in grinders really helped me break the habit.  This next Call is a great reason NOT to stray from black and white.  Take a look…

Check out this Call for Entries from BWAC (Brooklyn, NY) for Black & White. This year, Christiane Paul, curator of Media Arts at the Whitney Museum, is one of NY’s art elite, and the juror for Black & White.  Don’t miss this opportunity…

Black & White

“We bathe in the beauty of color and spin thousands of words describing the experience that the cone cells transmit to our brain. In reality, they are not nearly as numerous as our rods, the cells that register light and dark, the black and white of our experience. Black and white is primal, the underneath, the foundation of the opulence of color; black and white is where we register motion and, with insufficient light, optimize our survival in the night woods.  Black and White intends to explore this underground of survival.” –from bwac.org
