Field Day is right around the corner for my son.  Do you remember Field Day?  It was the much-hyped day of outdoor fun and competition we were all supposed to anticipate it with such joy.  Not.  I just wasn’t that girl.  The best thing about Field Day was eating outside.  And, I still like a picnic now and then, but you can keep the track-and-field events, thanks.  This next Call is from Field Projects, but I don’t think they are going to force you to hurdle anything.  Except a deadline, maybe…

Check out this Call for Entries from Field Projects (New York City) for Open Call 3!  The entry fee is only $25 for up to 5 images, and you could end up with a New York show.  Investigate this opportunity…

Field Projects is pleased to announce our third semi-annual open call exhibition.  We present two Open Call exhibitions a year, one in the winter and one in the summer. Emerging and mid-career artists are invited to submit their work for consideration. All of the submissions we receive will be considered not only for Show #14 but also for the Field Projects upcoming exhibition calendar and Top Ten online exhibition.

ELIGIBILITY:  Open to all artists

MEDIA:  All media welcome

ENTRY FEE:  $25 for up to 5 images

CURATORS:  Keri Oldham is an artist & curator working in watercolor, paper & video. Her work explores memory, time & space through attachment to cinema.  Originally from Dallas, TX, Keri has exhibited her work throughout the country including San Francisco, NY, Dallas, Austin & New Orleans.

Jacob Rhodes is an internationally exhibited artist, curator, and musician. Rhodes holds a BFA from Otis College of Art, an MFA from Yale University, and has attended residencies at Skowhegan School of Painting and AIM at the Bronx Museum. He also was an infantry soldier in the US Army 2002-05. In his work Rhodes explores codes of masculinity, class, and the inherent violence in homo-social interaction.
