Art for The Glass Coin

Visit the Glass Coin online!Your art should convey meaning, tell a story or be a picture in a poem.  The Glass Coin likes photography and original art in any medium. 

Editor’s Note: This online zine is run by two young editors with a love of writing and art.  Take a moment to submit your work today!

ELIGIBILITY:  Just one piece at a time for artists, and it should convey both themes. 

Check out past issues of the Glass Coin online!ENTRY FEE:  There is no entry fee.

DEADLINES:  Check the website for rolling deadlines dates.

THEMES for The Glass Coin:

January & February – There is no specific theme. Explore an idea. If you have a pair of ideas you may send those as well.  *Editors note:  As of 12/9/10, they are full for January, but are still looking for submissions for Spring.

MarchThe fair maiden and the foul beast.  Fair play and the cheat.  We want stories of a day at the fair and odes to foul smells.  Was the ball fair or foul?  Tell us, who said life was fair?

AprilWill you follow suit (&  tie)? Will you leave it undone? Do you go in for what suits you? Or are you tied up?

In this issue they are looking beyond the clothes that make the man, and into what makes our lives simple or complicated.

May –  Mother and Child. The Unicorn said, “I always thought children were fabulous monsters.”  And they are.  Many women build these fabulous monsters inside their bodies – it’s just so sci-fi.  

One of the most elusive and powerful relationships in the human condition is the relationship we have with our mothers.  Want to share yours?

Your subject line and file name should be the same as writing submissions.  For example: Beginnings-Endings – Art – The Great Image – Your Name
